Cyanogen is a colorless gas with almond-like odor, which is acrid and pungent in high concentrations.

Layman's explanation: Cyanogen is a colorless gas with an odor of almonds. It is used in organic synthesis, welding and cutting metals, fumigant and rocket propellant. Cyanogen poisonings occur more frequently with the increased use of cyanogen gas for fumigation.
