bromotrifluoride

Boron trifluoride is a common lewis acid.

Chemical Formula: BF3
Layman's explanation: Boron trifloride has a trigonal pryamidal shape and has a D3h point group, and dissolves in diethyl ether. Normally a gas, boron trifluoride is a hard and strong lewis acid with a high affinity in displacement reactions. BF3 is strongly used as an industrial catalyst. It extracts bases bound to carbon and produces carbocations.
Keywords: trigonal pryamidal, lewis acid
