Layman's explanation: Benzene is found in liquid form and is used for making plastics such as rubber, and synthetic fabrics such as nylon and polyester. Benzene is clear and colorless but highly aromatic. It can be derived from burning natural products such as coal and petroleum. Benzene is believed to be a carcinogen that leads to Leukemia. It is also believed to affect bone-marrow and blood supply. Short-term exposure to high-levels of benzene can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and death.
